Narikala Fortress

Narikala Fortress, preserving the Glory of Georgia's PastWatching over Tbilisi for over 1,500 years, Narikala is more than just a fortress—it’s the soul of the city. Perched on a ridge above the Mtkvari River, its weathered walls have witnessed invasions, fires, and rebirths. Originally a Persian citadel, it later grew under Arabs and Georgians, becoming the city’s unbreakable guardian. Reach it by cable car or hike up through the narrow streets of old Tbilisi. The climb rewards you with the best panoramic view: the twisting river, the colorful balconies, the metallic arch of the Bridge of Peace, and the iconic “Mother of Georgia” statue standing nearby.
