Turtle Lake

Turtle Lake
Turtle Lake (in Georgian: Kustba) is located on the slope of Mount Mtatsminda at an altitude of about 700 meters above sea level. It got its name from the many turtles that once lived there. Today, it is a popular recreational spot for both Tbilisi residents and visitors to the capital. In summer, you can swim here, rent a catamaran, or simply sunbathe on the pebble beach. There are walking and jogging paths around the lake, as well as sports grounds and cozy cafés serving Georgian cuisine. Getting here is easy: a cable car runs from Vake Park, and those who enjoy hiking can take scenic trails. Nearby is the Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography — so you can combine time in nature with a journey into history.
