St. Alexander Nevsky Church
St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Tbilisi is a Russian church in the very center of the city. The church was built in 1864 with donations from believers — the Synod added 5,000 rubles to the amount. In 1886, a bell tower was added, and in 1900— a refectory in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. One of the two churches in Tbilisi where services are held in Church Slavonic. Buried in the courtyard are Metropolitan Zinovy (Mazhuga) and revered elder Schiarchimandrite Vitaly. The temple houses fragments of the relics of St. Nina, Mary Magdalene, St. Nicholas, St. Shio Mgvimsky.
